I found this interesting website “Inspiring Cities” and did a search for the city of Lyon. This was the result: Your search ‘ lyon ‘ did not match any documents.

Wow, I live in an un-inspiring city or one that does not match the criteria for  inspiration?

I chose Lyon because it did inspire me one day looking over the city from the Croix Rousse as the sun was setting. I must admit that after three years it has tested my inspiration.

Lyon is a complex city with fits and spurts of inspiration. It is an enigmatic city, reticent to reveal itself. But Lyon has great potential and its history rich and deep to inspire.

I find the title “inspiring cities” a good one. What does it feel like to live in an inspiring city? The inspiring city website describes itself:

Inspiring Cities is about international and interdisciplinary best practice in urban development. It is about the exchange of ideas and changing the way people think about the city. We believe in culture (in its broadest sense) as a way to help develop cities, to bring cities closer to what they are.

Inspiring Cities is about creating ideas for making cities better. Inspiring Cities is a free-zone on the Internet. Our mission is searching for the soul of the city.

I am guessing that an expat-friendly city is an inspiring criteria!
